Fade Resistant . Water Resistant . Stain Resistant

Fabrics so good you can use them indoors

"Outdoor Fabrics that Perform!"

Our outdoor fabrics aren't just coated with protection, it's woven into every fibre.  Most of them are 100% solution dyed acrylic.  They're referred to as "performance fabrics" because they can be used anywhere - including outdoors.

Our fabrics are ideal for high traffic public areas because they can stand up to the toughest of treatment.  And they really come into their own in a family setting - no more crying over spilt milk!

Fabrics with Super Powers! - they're water resistant, stain resistant and fade resistant.  They also have anti-microbial properties so they resist mould and mildew.

When you first feel our fabrics, it's hard to believe they're so hardy.  But believe it.

We think these are the best fabrics in the world and we hope you will too!

if you don't see what you like on our site, contact us and we will track

down the right outdoor fabric for you)

Care Instructions -  When we send your fabric, you will receive a full set of care instructions.  You will find that dust and dirt sit on top of the fabric rather than settling in so a good vacuum or shake is all that's needed to keep them looking great.  A wipeover with a damp cloth will also revitalise it.

You can wash most of our fabrics on a gentle cycle in cold water with just a little bit of natural soap (harsh detergents can interfere with the acrylic properties of the fabric).

We do not recommend using a dryer for any of our fabrics.  Also do not use a hot iron.  Keep in mind that our fabrics are acrylic so they're like plastic - extreme heat will shrink them.  And don't forget that while the fabric is tough, the thread used to sew them and buttons/ zippers may not be, so you may want to consider dry cleaning.

Pool chlorine or salt acts as bleach, and it could seriously damage your fabric over time.  Constantly sitting on cushions with wet bathers or leaving wet towels in direct contact with the fabric is not recommended.  This is particularly important with printed fabrics.

Selecting the Right Match - We're very careful that our photographs represent our fabrics as closely as possible but your computer screen might differ.  To be absolutely sure, it's best to obtain a sample or swatch.

We also work hard to make sure our outdoor fabrics have a great range of coordinates to make creating your perfect look even easier.  But while we do have fab taste (even if we say so ourselves!) and we know our fabrics back to front, it's only our opinion.  Before deciding on samples, feel free to request photographs of groups of fabrics - it will certainly give you a great idea of whether the look you have in mind will work.

Samples - It's always best to get a sample to make absolutely sure your fabric choice will be perfect.  We keep stock of all our fabrics so you should have your sample or swatch within three business days.

Our sample size is usually a generous 16cm x 22cm and the one low price of $5.00 includes postage and handling.  However, if you're interested in a stripe which has a wide repeat, then we will supply a 10cm x 40cm sample to make sure you get the full picture.   Our swatches are perfect for matching colours and are about 6cm x 10cm.   Again, the price of $2.50 includes postage and handling.

If you receive your samples or swatches and you still can't make a decision, give us a call (on the number at the top of the order form you receive) and we will help you to make the right decision.

*On some of our limited quantity stock, the sample size may be smaller, but we will advise when you order.

Pricing - Our outdoor fabrics are generally around 75% cheaper than you'll find if you buy them at the retail level.  That's because we import directly, in many cases straight from the fabric mills.

Despite the savings, you will pay more for these high performance fabrics than for cotton prints or other run-of-the-mill material.  All of the material we stock is imported from the United States and Europe.  We do not buy any fabric from Asia.

Many of our outdoor fabrics are 100% solution dyed acrylic so they're super tough.  Others are lighter and designed to dry quickly if they get wet.

Shipping Costs - Only $10.00 for as much fabric as you need to anywhere in Australia!  Doesn't that make it easy?  If you just want a metre, the cost is a set $7.50.   There is no charge for shipping on samples or swatches.

Delivery Timeframe - So we can keep up-to-date with the latest decor fashions, we only keep a small range of fabrics in stock in Australia.   Our stocked fabric includes most of the solid colours and some stripes.

On all other fabrics, the usual delivery time for more than one metre is 15 working days.  If you need your fabric sooner, we do offer express postage at an extra cost.  Please contact us for more information.

Returns Policy - If we make a mistake, we will fix it at absolutely no cost to you.  Once cut, fabric is difficult to resell so please choose carefully.  However, we do want you to be happy with your purchase and will consider an exchange or refund in some circumstances - it never hurts to ask.

Uses for Fab Outdoor Fabrics - Our outdoor fabrics are suitable for all upholstery uses including deck chairs, hammocks, lounge furniture, and bean bags.  And they make almost indestructible cushions - check out some of the ideas on our cushy inspirations page

A couch or armchair covered in our fabric is perfect for young families because it will stand up to sticky fingers and hairy pets.  And because outdoor fabrics don't fade like normal cotton or polyester, they're perfect for curtains or blinds.

If you're into boating, you will love our wide range of outdoor fabric.  They are perfect for creating a stylish cabin - use for seat upholstery, scatter cushions and porthole curtains.  While our outdoor fabrics are not waterproof, they will stand up to getting the odd salt water spray.

Fabric Width - Almost all of our fabrics are 137cm or 54 inches wide.  The handful of fabrics that differ have their width detailed on the description page.  All of the stripes run horizontal to the selvage (in other words, down the length of the fabric).

Formal or informal - our outdoor fabrics can take all kinds of punishment and will look fabulous in every setting.

Sewing our Fabric - You will love sewing with our outdoor fabrics* because they're just slighter stiffer than normal fabrics and they glide under the needle with ease.  You don't need a special needle but we do recommend that you use high quality acrylic thread that will weather just as well as the fabric.  And don't forget to use outdoor quality foam for all cushions to make sure your hard work lasts and lasts.

*Our marine range is much tougher than regular fabrics and we don't recommend sewing it with domestic machines.

Can't sew?  We've got you covered.  Check out our Custom Make page - our very creative sewing team can make just about anything.  Tablecloths, cushions, chair covers - if you can think it up, we can whip it up.
